The research Violence against the LGBT+ community in the digital world , carried out on the occasion of the month of
sexual and gender diversity , shows that four out of 10 internet users criticize and justify attacks against the community (38.25 percent).
In contrast, 29.82 percent defend and support it, 15.6 percent raise awareness about the issue, and 16.32 percent of Internet users who come across messages related to this sector do not make value judgments about this community and its commemorations, which can be understood as indifference to these topics.
The report reveals that "the debate is raging around three topics: same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption, and transfemicide ," and the data indicates that there is polarization
online regarding the latter topic, said Augusto del Río, director of Dinamic, the company conducting the study using a computer system powered by artificial intelligence. These are called neural networks that analyze conversations on social media; in this case, we did so about the LGBT+ community
.
It was detected that in the last three weeks the topic reached 85 million 104 thousand 925 social media users, that is, daily, on average 4 million 255 thousand 246 Internet users chatted, reacted or learned information about the topic
. On Facebook, 56 percent of the interactions were concentrated; on X, 20 percent; Instagram, 14 percent; Tik Tok, 7 percent and YouTube one percent.
