Mexicali, June 1. The General Council of the Baja California State Electoral Institute (IEEBC) officially began the election this Sunday, in which Baja Californians will elect those who will fill 172 positions in the Baja California Judicial Branch (PJBC).
Luis Alberto Hernández Morales, president of the IEEBC, noted that this process, due to its nature and context, represents an unprecedented experience for Baja California, as for the first time, citizens are being called upon to directly elect the heads of the PJBC's jurisdictional bodies.
He asserted that the IEEBC has fulfilled its responsibility: ensuring that election day proceeds in accordance with the guiding principles of the electoral system.
Hernández Morales emphasized that everything is ready to welcome the more than 3,303,000 citizens who make up the Nominal Voter List at the 2,624 polling stations set up throughout the state.
