Tijuana, June 21.- The film “Home is Somewhere Else,” directed by Carlos Hagerman and Jorge Villalobos, and produced by Tijuana native Mariana Marín Romero, received two nominations for the 65th Ariel Awards, including Best Documentary Feature and Best Animated Feature.
Internationally, the film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Festival and in Mexico, at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in 2022, reported Abelardo Vázquez Ramos, Director of Creative Industries at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
Recognitions
During its festival run, the film received the Best Youth Documentary Award at the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA); the Special Coral Award from the Animation Jury at the 43rd Havana Film Festival; the Hecho en México Award at DocxMX; the Corazón Award for Best Frontera Feature at the San Diego Latin Film Festival; and an honorable mention at the Zanate Grand Prix at the Mexican festival of the same name.
