The book "Dances and Borders" by Minerva Tapia will be presented at Cecut.

Tijuana, August 19.- Minerva Tapia Robles, a state and international reference, will present her book "Danzas y frontera" (Dances and Borders), where she reflects on her own experience and that of other artists from the Tijuana-San Diego area who have produced a provocative aesthetic, ethical and political discourse with their contemporary dance, said Margarita Tortajada.

The presentation will be next Thursday, August 31st, in the Federico Campbell Room of the Tijuana Cultural Center at 7:00 pm, with the participation of Dr. Margarita Tortajada Quiroz.

She also argues that Minerva Tapia dissects several choreographic works and investigates the motivations and artistic and identity processes of their creators who, like her, create a dance that denounces issues such as migration, racism, drug trafficking, and violence.

The book is part of the Cecut (Tijuana Cultural Center) editorial collection and, from a research methodology perspective, includes interviews, choreographic analysis, and essays, in addition to promoting the premise that borders awaken the critical sense of those who dance them.
