As part of the priority actions led by Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, safeguarding Tijuana women and girls is essential. Therefore, the Municipal Women's Institute (Immujer) activated seven 7-Eleven convenience store branches as Orange Points.
“We are happy that 7-Eleven is joining these seven branches, which are 24 hours with which we will be counting on the protocols for the Otay delegations, specifically near the universities, Playas de Tijuana Delegation, Centro Delegation, Presa Este Delegation and La Mesa Delegation, we will also collaborate as a team so that the 70 branches are added monthly in order to ensure that they operate at 100 percent with their respective cameras and panic button,” said Tanya Alejandra Mota Alvarado, director of Immujer.
Punto Naranja is an initiative of the Municipal Women's Institute that consists of adding public spaces to prevent violence and protect women and girls as they travel through the city. In addition, businesses are part of the Únete program, which consists of carrying out activities and information campaigns on the 25th of each month, both internally and externally, on raising awareness and eradicating violence against women.
Businesses, schools, and institutions were also invited to receive training and become active participants in the 451 public establishments that have been activated as "Orange Points."
