Instagram announced that only public accounts with at least 1,000 followers can now use the live broadcast feature.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Saturday, if an account is private and has fewer than 1,000 followers, users will see a notification that they are no longer eligible to use the Live feature. Previously, all users, regardless of follower count or account type, were free to use this feature.
"We're changing the requirements for using this feature. Only public accounts with 1,000 or more followers can create live videos," Instagram said in a notification to users.
