Janice Tjen reaches the quarterfinals of the ITF W75 Lexington singles and doubles tournament







Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITF W75 Lexington singles and doubles tournament in the US, after winning in straight sets in the round of 16.

Janice, who was seeded seventh in the hardcourt event, managed to beat American Hina Inoue 6-4, 6-1 in their first head-to-head for 1 hour and 12 minutes.

In the doubles event, the Jakarta-born tennis player partnered with Japanese Saki Imamura. They advanced past the first round against host Makenna Jones and Anna Rogers.

Janice/Saki defeated the tournament's second seeds in one hour and 21 minutes, winning 7-5, 6-3. They will next face another American pair, Ayana Akli/Eryn Cayetano, in the quarterfinals.

In the singles, Janice will face French third seed Jessika Ponchet, who defeated the Chinese player 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 in the second round.

Prior to competing in the ITF W75 Lexington, Janice competed in the ITF W100 Evansville as part of her preparations for the US Open.
