Janice Tjen was stopped by Raducanu in the second round of the US Open

Indonesian women's tennis player Janice Tjen's progress at the US Open was halted in the second round after losing to British tennis player Emma Raducanu while appearing on the big "stage" of Louis Armstrong Stadium, USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, New York, US.

Janice was unable to stop Raducanu's positive trend when she was defeated with a final score of 2-6, 1-6, according to the match results from the US Open website.

Having grown up idolizing Ashleigh Barty, Janice displayed a powerful forehand that intimidated the 2021 US Open champion as the Jakarta-born player took the fourth game.

With Barty's signature slice backhand , Janice won the sixth game to try and close the gap at 2-4. However, Raducanu regained the momentum she had built to secure the first set.

No. 36 Raducanu quickly won five games in the second set. Janice, ranked No. 149, tried to thwart Raducanu by stealing the sixth game.

However, her efforts were short-lived as Raducanu sealed the 60-minute win.

The result ended Janice's Grand Slam debut, which began in qualifying, and Raducanu's Cinderella story of winning the US Open as a qualifier.
