Ministry of Communication and Digital: PP Tunas does not prevent children from accessing information

Officials from the Ministry of Communication and Digital emphasized that Government Regulation Number 21 of 2025 concerning the Governance of Electronic Systems for Child Protection, or PP Tunas, does not prevent children from accessing information in the digital space.

"I want to emphasize again, this is about electronic system governance in child protection, not preventing children from accessing information in the digital realm," said the Director General of Public Communication and Media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Fifi Aleyda Yahya, at the "Kick Off of the 2025 Indonesian Public Relations Convention in Surabaya" in Jakarta on Saturday.

"If they are accompanied by a parent or teacher, they can still access the information. So, it's not blocking their access," he said.

Fifi emphasized the importance of parents and teachers monitoring and accompanying children when accessing information and other services using gadgets.

He said that the implementation of the Tunas PP was intended to protect children from exposure to incorrect information, hoaxes, and negative content, including content containing elements of violence and pornography.
