Bicentennial Plaza in the downtown area was the setting for the kickoff of Tijuana Multicultural, an event whose guest state this year was Oaxaca, which took place this afternoon.
The program offered visitors a variety of food and craft stands, as well as artistic performances from the Guelaguetza, a traditional spectacle showcasing the cultural richness of Oaxaca.
Wendy Ontiveros, Tijuana's Secretary of Well-being, explained that the initiative seeks to strengthen the economy of local artisans.
"This event promotes the economic development of our artisans, creating spaces for their talent and efforts to be recognized and valued," Ontiveros said.
