Mexicali, August 22.- For a safe, dignified and smooth return to classes for 1,045,115 students in Baja California at the start of the 2023-2024 school year, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda held a working meeting with leaders of the state's teachers' unions, with whom she reaffirmed her administration's commitment to collaborate to continue improving the education system for the benefit of Baja Californian children and adolescents who attend the different schools.
The state leader reported that while 80,000 students from state high schools such as Cobach, Cecyte, Conalep, and the military high school were admitted on Tuesday, August 22, more than 660,000 preschool, primary, and secondary school students will officially return to the classroom on Monday, August 28, making the state the leader in the national educational population, with education understood as the engine of the country's development and progress.

Present at the meeting were the Secretary of Education of Baja California, Gerardo Arturo Solís Benavidez, as well as Juan Enrique Villanueva, leader of Section 2 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE); Ampelio Íñiguez, leader of Section 37 of the SNTE; Héctor Lara of SETE; Agustín Morales of STE BC; Salvador Rubio of SIETE BC; the representative of the National Executive Committee of SNTE Section 2, Elpidio Yáñez; and the representatives of the National Committee of Section 37 of the SNTE, Jaime García and Felipe Antúnez.
The head of the State Executive Branch thanked the union representatives for their willingness to support the construction of better education in Baja California, as well as for joining the daily efforts to address educational needs, always prioritizing the well-being and rights of students.
