Seven new players for the U-23 national team in the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Indonesian U-23 national team coach Gerald Vanenburg made seven changes to the squad he brought for the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be played at Gelora Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo on September 3-9.

Quoted from the official Instagram of the Indonesian national team, Tuesday, these seven changes were made by him from his first squad when he coached the Young Garuda in the 2025 ASEAN U-23 Championship when they finished runners-up in Jakarta last July.

Brandon Scheunemann, Achmad Maulana, Firman Juliansyah, Dominikus Dion, Victor Dethan, Althaf Indie, and Yardan Yafi are the seven players he has not included for the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Instead, the Dutch coach, who was the winner of the 1988 European Cup, brought in new names, including Dion Markx (NEC Nijmegen U-21), Mikael Tata (Persebaya Surabaya), Zanadin Fariz (Persis Solo), Ananda Raehan (PSM Makassar), Rafael Struick (Dewa United), Salim Tuharea (Arema FC), and Ricky Pratama (PSM Makassar).
