Mexico City. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented a series of four sports races called "Unstoppable Mexico," with Rarámuri ultramarathoner Lorena Ramírez as its ambassador. This program seeks to promote athletic talent and provide support to Indigenous and low-income athletes for their professional development.
The president explained that this initiative was conceived by athletes Mirna Beatriz de la Cruz Álvarez and Lorena, "and we are supporting them with all the secretariats." People can also register for the peace events.
“Unstoppable Mexico is a racing series that fuses sport, cultural identity, tourism, awareness, and social impact,” explained De la Cruz.
There will be four locations: "Roots of Water" in Palenque, Chiapas, on September 14; "Roots of Fire" in Mexico City, on December 7; "Roots of Earth" in Oaxaca, on March 22, 2026; and "Roots of Air" in Chihuahua, on June 7.
This initiative seeks to foster, in addition to sporting talent and Indigenous athletes, inclusion, celebrate cultural diversity, and recognize the value of Indigenous roots.
Each race is designed to raise awareness of Indigenous peoples and promote tourism
