This came in a televised statement read by the group's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, and published on his account on the "X" platform, in addition to a statement issued by the occupation army.
Saree said: "The Yemeni Armed Forces' (Houthi) drone air force carried out three qualitative military operations, targeting three Israeli enemy targets, using three drones."
He explained that "two operations attacked two military targets of the Zionist enemy in the areas of Jaffa (Tel Aviv) and Ashkelon (south), while the third operation targeted the port of Haifa (north) in occupied Palestine."
He pointed out that these operations are a victory for the Palestinian people, "in response to the crimes of genocide and starvation committed by the Zionist enemy against our brothers in the Gaza Strip, and in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist herds and their desecration of its holy courtyards."
In contrast, Tel Aviv announced that it had intercepted a drone launched from Yemen, which triggered air raid sirens in southern Israel.
The Israeli occupation army said in a statement published on the X platform: "Following the sirens, which were activated a short time ago regarding an enemy drone infiltration in Bnei Netzarim, the air force intercepted a drone launched from Yemen."
Air raid sirens sounded in the settlement of Bnei Netzarim in the Eshkol Regional Council in the Negev (south), before the Israeli army announced it had intercepted the drone, according to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The Houthi group is launching continuous attacks on Israel in support of Gaza, using missiles and drones, and targeting ships linked to it or heading towards it.
On July 27, the Houthi group decided to escalate its naval operations against Israel by "targeting all ships belonging to any company that deals with Israeli ports, regardless of the company's nationality," in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a genocidal war since October 7, 2023.
With American support, Israel is waging a war of genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the campaign.
The genocide left more than 210,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
