Al-Qassam: We will respond to any request to bring food to Israeli prisoners, provided that permanent humanitarian corridors are opened in Gaza.

Abu Obeida, the Qassam Brigades' military spokesman, said in a statement on his Telegram account, "The Qassam Brigades are prepared to engage positively and respond to any Red Cross request to deliver food and medicine to the enemy's prisoners."

He continued: "We stipulate that, in order to accept this, humanitarian corridors must be opened on a normal and permanent basis for the passage of food and medicine to all our people in all areas of the Gaza Strip, and that all forms of enemy air raids must be halted during the times when parcels are being delivered to prisoners."

Abu Obeida also stressed that the Qassam Brigades "does not intentionally starve" Israeli prisoners, and pointed out that the prisoners eat what the Qassam Brigades fighters and the Palestinian people eat.

Abu Obeida stressed that prisoners "will not receive special privileges in light of the crimes of starvation and siege" perpetrated by the Israeli army against the Palestinian people.

This came in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement on Sunday regarding his conversation with Julien Leirisson, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Israel and the occupied territories, and his request to participate in providing food and medical care to hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from Israel's starvation policy had risen to 175 Palestinians, including 93 children, since the war began on October 7, 2023.

Since beginning its genocide on October 7, 2023, Israel has been simultaneously committing a starvation crime against the Palestinians of Gaza. On March 2, it tightened its measures by closing all crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, causing famine to spread and reaching "catastrophic" levels.

The genocide left more than 210,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
