The Ministry of Creative Economy is supporting the development of the local gaming industry by promoting the provision of local gaming services in public places such as airports.

At the W3GG GAM3 ARENA event at Point Arena, Jakarta, Saturday (2/8), Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar said that one of the government's initiatives in supporting the local gaming industry is to provide Games Corners at airports.

According to a ministry press release in Jakarta on Sunday, Games Corners at airports provide Indonesian-made games curated by the Indonesian Game Association (AGI).

These efforts are expected to expand the exposure of local games to the public and tourists.

In addition to providing services at the airport, the government is collaborating with several hotels, including Artotel and Ashley Hotel, to provide in-room gaming services.

"Just call the reception, a PlayStation with local games will be sent to your room," said Irene.

"We're pushing this initiative so that more people will know about and enjoy the work of Indonesian children in the digital games sector," he added.
