In this context, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced the martyrdom of journalist Khaled Al-Madhoun, a cameraman for the official Palestine TV, following a direct attack by Israeli occupation forces while covering events in the Zikim area in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Syndicate affirmed that targeting journalists represents an ongoing crime by the occupation aimed at obscuring the truth and silencing the Palestinian voice, emphasizing that Palestinian journalists continue to fulfill their mission despite the risks.
With Al-Madhoun's martyrdom, the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the beginning of the Israeli war of extermination has risen to 240. On August 10, the occupation assassinated six other journalists in an airstrike that targeted their tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
