Mexicali, March 28. On the afternoon of March 27, 2022, young Kevin Moreno Ana was taken by his father to work at Shots bar, and it was the last time his family heard from him.
Three years after his disappearance, family and friends held a vigil outside what was the last place where he was seen.
Three years have passed, and his parents have formalized the Search and Investigation Unit in the hope of finding him and supporting other families going through the same thing.
"I believe that Kevin's investigation is a complex matter. The Code of Criminal Procedure limits our ability as civilians to investigate; we have respected that line of defense, but 90 percent of the case has been contributed by the Search and Investigation Unit ," said his father, activist Juan Gonzalo Moreno.
The place has burned down twice , the last time in January of this year, even though it was guarded by a police officer.
Soraya Ana, Kevin Moreno's mother, said that the fight to find her son continues and that they hope to have him back home.
He explained that since last year they have been seeking to convert the building that housed the Shots bar into a memorial to the victims .
