Will Governor Marina del Pilar get her visa back?

Tijuana, August 14. "We are in that process," said Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda when asked if she had recovered her visa to cross into the United States.

"We continue to work closely with the United States government, always with great respect and peace of mind, here working, continuing to work for the transformation of our country," he said.

He was also asked about the reason for the revocation, and without giving a direct answer, he said, "Well, there are administrative issues. There's a lot of respect for our country's sovereignty, but we're still working hard to coordinate and communicate."

She was interviewed by the media in Mexico City, where she attended the press briefing of Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña, who is about to conclude his term as President of the Senate.

There was later speculation that the reason behind the visa cancellations was an alleged US investigation into them, and that they were part of a "blacklist" of politicians, but the US government clarified that no such list exists and that such measures are confidential.
