Midea Club has appointed five of the nation's best technicians to represent Indonesia at the Midea Club ASEAN Flash Installation Tournament 2025 in China.
The five technicians are Agung Nugroho, Nanang Eko Setyawan, Tarman, Muhammad Suyono Yatin, and Edy Umar. They were selected after passing preliminary rounds in seven major Indonesian cities and the final round held in Jakarta.
"By going to China, the winners will gain experience competing on the international stage alongside the best technicians from Southeast Asia," said Midea Electronics Indonesia's Head of Residential Air Conditioner Sales, Ighvar Rabbighfirly, in a press release on Thursday.
From a total of 280 participants in the initial stage, 21 finalists from Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Bali, and Surabaya were selected. They then competed for the top 10 national positions, before the top five earned tickets to the international competition.

National winners receive cash prizes of up to Rp4.65 million and travel accommodation to China.
At the ASEAN level, the three best winners will receive a prize of IDR 75 million for first place along with the title of Midea ASEAN Flash Installation Ambassador, IDR 30 million for second place, and IDR 15 million for third place. R
Ighvar explained that technicians represent the company directly in the field. Proper and professional AC installation is crucial for the product's efficiency and longevity.
On the other hand, installation errors can lead to customer complaints, unit damage, and even a bad brand image.
Furthermore, technicians are often the first to explain product features, usage instructions, and maintenance to customers. They play a role in providing product education in the field.
"We want to emphasize that the skills of technicians deserve the highest stage and appreciation," Ighvar concluded.
