The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said: "Two soldiers were slightly injured after a Panther military vehicle drove over an explosive device in the Tulkarm area, near the seam line fence near the Nitzani crossing."

The Israeli army radio said that the army "imposed a cordon on the Tulkarm area following the incident."

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades - Tulkarm Battalion, affiliated with the Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility for the bombing on its Telegram channel.

She said: "Our fighters, along with the heroes of our people, were able to detonate a pre-prepared 'Shujaa 1' explosive device in an Israeli 'Namer' military vehicle."

She explained that the operation resulted in the military vehicle being taken out of service near the Nitzaniouz checkpoint, and resulted in "confirmed injuries" among Israeli soldiers.

The Brigades indicated that its members monitored the landing of Israeli helicopters to evacuate the wounded.

For its part, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that the Israeli occupation army imposed a "tight siege" on the city of Tulkarm, closing the iron gates at its southern and eastern entrances.

WAFA quoted the Palestinian Red Crescent as saying, "The occupation forces prevented its crews from reaching the wounded near the Nitzan-Oz checkpoint."

At the beginning of this year, the occupation army launched a large-scale military operation in the northern West Bank, including Tulkarm.

In parallel with the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the occupation army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, killed at least 1,020 Palestinians, injured approximately 7,000 others, and arrested more than 19,000, according to Palestinian data.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,718 Palestinians dead, 163,859 wounded, most of them children and women, hundreds of thousands displaced, and 411 Palestinians, including 142 children, dying from famine.
