Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Balil Lahadalia stated that the waste-to-energy project is still awaiting the results of a study and verification from Danantara.
Minister Bahlil stated at the Presidential Palace complex that companies that pass the Danantara selection process will be recommended for permits from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources before entering into a power purchase contract with PLN.
"So, Danantara will then determine which companies will come in to build. The permit will then be issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," he said.
He explained that the technical aspects of utilizing waste as energy, whether through direct combustion or biomass, are still under review with the ESDM and Danantara technical teams.
"Technically, we're still reviewing which ones are suitable. The technical aspects are still being studied, and our technical team and the technical team from Danantara will check and validate which companies are suitable," he said.
