Doha: Turkish-Qatari-Egyptian meeting with Hamas delegation to discuss Trump's plan

Al-Ansari said at a press conference in Doha that Egypt and Qatar delivered Trump's Gaza plan to the Palestinian negotiating delegation in a meeting held very late Monday evening (in Doha). Further meetings with the delegation, attended by Turkey, will be held on Tuesday to consult on the plan.

He explained that Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad is heading the Egyptian delegation. He attended the meeting to present Trump's plan to the Hamas negotiating delegation (in Doha) on Monday, and will be present at the meeting Tuesday evening with the Palestinian negotiating delegation.

He pointed out that the Hamas negotiating delegation promised to study Trump's plan responsibly, and that it was still too early to respond, especially since it was delivered so late on Monday evening.

He pointed out that "the first step towards a plan to end the Gaza war is consensus among all parties, and after meetings with the Hamas delegation, the vision will become clearer."

In response to a question about Turkey's participation in mediating an end to the Gaza war, Al-Ansari said, "The meeting held in New York between leaders of Arab and Islamic countries and President Trump expanded the scope of participation in this initiative to include all participating countries. That's why we see this Egyptian-Qatari-Turkish presence today at the Doha meeting."

Al-Ansari pointed out that "everyone who agreed to the initiative is considered a party within the Trump initiative, working collectively, and coordination is underway among them. We will see their delegations in Doha."

Regarding Trump's plan, Al-Ansari added, "We highly appreciate the American commitment to ending the war, and this plan takes a comprehensive view of ending the war. This is consistent with Doha's position, which has consistently called for an end to starvation and destruction."

Regarding concerns about some aspects of the Trump plan, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, "There is no perfect plan, and there may be challenges, but we will not preemptively comment on any future positions."

On Monday, at a press conference with Netanyahu, Trump outlined the key elements of his 20-point plan to end the war, including the release of Israeli prisoners within 72 hours, the disarmament of Hamas, and a ceasefire.

The plan's announcement comes as the Israeli occupation army continues its deployment in several key areas of Gaza City, while continuing to bomb and shell buildings and residential facilities in those areas as part of its efforts to occupy the city and displace Palestinians from it.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 66,097 martyrs and 168,536 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 453 Palestinians, including 150 children.
