Eight national records were set at the 2025 National Athletics Championships

Eight national records were set in the 2025 LPS National Athletics Championships and the Indonesian U-18 Open Championships at Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Central Java.

The General Chairman of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, also appreciated this.

"The 2025 National Athletics Championships and the Indonesian U-18 Open Championships demonstrate that Indonesian athletics has a strong foundation for growth. The creation of eight new national records and the emergence of young, competitive talent are a testament to the development efforts undertaken in the regions," said Luhut, as quoted in an official statement from the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) in Jakarta on Friday.

The tournament, which ran from August 29 to September 5, 2025, was marked by two historic opening moments, including the U-18 5,000-meter race walk. Nabila Mahdiyya Eka of the Special Region of Yogyakarta clocked 27 minutes, 22.49 seconds in the women's event, surpassing Rika Ayu Wulandari's previous record (2016).

Meanwhile, in the men's event, Afik Oktavian (DIY) performed brilliantly with a time of 23 minutes 24.18 seconds, breaking Ainul Yaqin's record set at the 2024 National Championships in Yogyakarta.

From the field sector, the public was treated to a brilliant performance by Idan Fauzan Richsan (West Java) who again set a new national record for senior men's pole vault with a jump of 5.32 meters.
