Dr. Eka Oktaviani Budiningtyas, Sp.M, a subspecialist in eye infections and immunology from the University of Indonesia, said that frequent blinking of the eyes has nothing to do with worms, as is commonly believed by the general public.
"There is no connection between blinking eyes and worms," said the doctor, known as Vani, during a health discussion about eyes in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said frequent eye blinking isn't directly caused by worms. Blinking is usually caused by dry eyes or a refractive error.
