Mexicali, March 11.- Gas stations in Tijuana near the border and downtown have seen an increase in sales due to the difference in price compared to San Diego, California, where the cost has skyrocketed in recent days, averaging up to six dollars per gallon.
Based on the cost per gallon in the United States, each liter of gasoline in Tijuana costs between five and seven pesos less, making it an attractive option for residents of the California county.
Many drivers who work in San Diego but live in Tijuana have opted to fill up on the Mexican side due to the cost; they've stopped doing so on the "other side," as was their custom.
During a tour that La Jornada de Baja California conducted through Tijuana stations, it even found advertisements advertising the "cheaper" price on the Mexican side.
