Mexicali, September 14.- The State Government requested the Ministry of the Interior to declare a disaster resulting from the damage caused by Hurricane Kay.
This was announced by the head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Reorganization (Sidurt), Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, who reported that he does not have a precise estimate of the overall damage, but is working on it with the budget departments.
He mentioned that the Civil Protection Council approved the declaration and the municipalities present endorsed the document.
He commented that there are areas of the state where resources have been quantified, such as in San Felipe, where damage to the Malecón and surrounding areas totaled 3 million pesos.
