A US force will begin monitoring the ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday, while Israel is on high alert in preparation for the release of detainees.

According to the channel, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, along with US Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper, visited Gaza on Saturday to monitor the areas from which the Israeli occupation forces withdrew and discuss a coordination mechanism for overseeing the ceasefire.

The channel indicated that the American force is part of the first phase of the agreement to end the war, to be followed by a second phase that includes the deployment of an "International Stabilization Force" composed of soldiers from Arab, Islamic, and European countries between the areas from which the occupation army withdrew and the border fence.

The channel also revealed that disagreements remain between Israel and Arab states regarding the definition of the force's powers through a Security Council resolution, as Tel Aviv is reticent about this ste for fear of restricting its military operations.

The channel reported that an official in the Israeli security establishment confirmed that Israel is not discussing any further withdrawal from the Gaza Strip at this stage.

However, another Israeli official indicated that Witkoff and his team had begun working on maps for the upcoming withdrawal, noting that Witkoff's visit to Gaza also aimed to review the deployment locations of the "International Stabilization Force."

The channel added that the agreement stipulates that no further Israeli withdrawal will take place until this force enters Gaza, where it will be stationed between the urban areas from which the army withdrew and the border fence with Israel.

The channel explained that Witkoff, Kushner, and Admiral Brad Cooper met last Friday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior security officials to discuss the entry of the international force, noting that it could take several weeks to prepare the force before it is ready to enter Gaza.

The channel noted that Arab states are demanding that the powers of the international force be defined by a Security Council resolution, while Israel is opposing such a step, fearing it would limit its freedom of military action. It expects the issue of the international force to be a key issue at the leaders' summit scheduled for Monday in Egypt, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump.

In a related development, Israeli sources reported that the Israeli army has placed special units on alert in anticipation of the possible release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza before the scheduled date of Monday, while the Prison Service has received orders to release Palestinian prisoners as part of the exchange deal.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the deal includes the release of approximately 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences, along with approximately 1,700 prisoners from Gaza arrested after October 7, 2023. The Shin Bet security service excluded dozens of names from the final list.

Hebrew media circulated video clips showing Israeli security personnel abusing Palestinian prisoners believed to be among those released as part of the deal, while transporting them to the Negev prison ahead of their release.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza for two years since October 7, 2023, leaving 67,682 martyrs and 170,033 wounded, most of them children and women, and causing a famine that  claimed the lives of 463 Palestinians, including 157 children.

For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and territories in Syria and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw from these territories and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the pre-1967 borders.

On Thursday, Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of his ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan, following indirect negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh with the participation of Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, under US supervision.

The first phase of the agreement entered into force at 12:00 noon on Friday, after it was approved by the Israeli government at dawn.
