Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi) Nezar Patria emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation in the field of cybersecurity to maintain regional stability.
He believes that advances in digital technology are opening up significant opportunities for economic growth and collaboration in Southeast Asia. However, cybersecurity challenges require each country to strengthen regional resilience and cooperation.
"Digital transformation and cybersecurity must be implemented simultaneously. The two are interdependent," Nezar said in a statement.
He stated that cybersecurity issues must be a priority for Southeast Asian countries to maintain stability and security. Cybersecurity is also considered a prerequisite for successful digital transformation.
Nezar highlighted three key areas of regional cooperation. First, strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure and data sovereignty. Technology infrastructure is the backbone of the economy in the digital age and therefore requires proper security.
