The East Java contingent dominated the medal tally in the ju-jitsu sport with eight medals, while DKI Jakarta excelled in karate with six medals at the 2025 National Martial Arts Games held at the Djarum Arena Kaliputu, Kudus.
The East Java contingent's temporary lead in the ju-jitsu event the day before remained until the end of the Japanese sporting event on Saturday, with a collection of eight medals, including five gold, two silver, and one bronze.
Meanwhile, Jakarta overtook West Java, which had previously held the lead, in karate with six medals, including three gold, one silver, and two bronze. West Java, meanwhile, had to settle for second place with seven medals, consisting of two gold, two silver, and three bronze.
As of Saturday, the East Java contingent still dominated the wushu event with 12 medals, consisting of eight gold, three silver, and one bronze. Jakarta followed with 13 medals, consisting of five gold, five silver, and three bronze. Bali also won five medals, consisting of two gold, one silver, and two bronze.
The Chairman of the East Java Wushu Provincial Management (Pengprov), Muhammad Ali Affandi, in Kudus, admitted that he was grateful that the wushu branch was able to contribute eight gold medals to the East Java Contingent.
"On the first day, we successfully won six gold medals. Today, we added two more medals, won by athletes named M. Daffa Hidayatullah and Jennifer Tjahyadi, bringing the total to eight gold medals," he said.
East Java also has the opportunity to add to its medal collection, because on Sunday (26/10) there is still a match schedule taking place at the Djarum Arena Kaliputu, Kudus Regency.
The 2025 Kudus National Martial Arts Games (PON) has entered its final, or third, phase, after the first and second phases, which included taekwondo, judo, wrestling, tarung Derajat, pencak silat, sambo, and kempo. The third and final phase, which will feature jujitsu and karate, will conclude on Saturday. Wushu is scheduled to conclude on Sunday (October 26th), with the overall champion being determined.
