Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) stated that as many as 5.9 million foreign tourists (wisman) entering Bali in 2025 are the target potential users of services in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (KEK).
"Foreign tourist visits to Bali have reached 5.9 million, meaning that the international hospital here (in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone) already has potential patients," said Saleh Partaonan Daulay, Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
Saleh Daulay, during the Working Visit of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) with the Governor of Bali in Denpasar on Thursday (30/10), saw the need for efforts to encourage more foreign tourists and domestic residents to come to Bali International Hospital in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone.
With the initial capital of high foreign tourist visits to Bali, according to him, in the future the Bali International Hospital managed by InJourney will not be inferior to similar hospitals in Singapore or Malaysia.
"So, we'll study everything. If it's well-organized, I'm sure Indonesia won't be left behind by other countries. We hope Bali will become an even bigger destination for foreign tourists," the Chairman of Commission VII also said.
Saleh Daulay said that currently, the competition for Balinese tourism is international, not just domestic provinces or regions, because Balinese tourism has its own unique characteristics.
According to him, the House of Representatives (DPR) itself, when drafting the Tourism Law, had high hopes for Indonesia to have an Indonesia Tourism Board like the Bali Tourism Board, which has been a strong advocate for the Balinese tourism industry. This demonstrates that Bali has consistently served as a benchmark in formulating tourism regulations.
The Indonesian House of Representatives is committed to supporting Balinese tourism, and further supporting the development of Balinese human resources not only in the tourism sector but also in the medical sector.
He said that with so many outstanding medical graduates from Bali, they could support the medical tourism sector.
Bali Governor Wayan Koster reported that to date the number of foreign tourist visits is 5.9 million with a projection of 7.1 million visits by the end of 2025.
"We estimate this will increase again in the next two months, as the number of foreign tourists visiting Bali each day is around 20,000-23,000, stable even though October is actually the low season," Koster said.
The Bali Provincial Government sees that foreign tourist visits remain high, because foreign tourists love Balinese culture, even though they have not yet brought them into Bali International Hospital, currently these tourists are filling hotels such as The Meru Bali Beach which is located in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone.
