Indonesian U17 national team coach Nova Ariantio said he does not want to burden the players when they compete in the 2025 U17 World Cup in November.
"My personal target is to hope we can advance to the next round, qualifying from the group, but I don't want to put any pressure on the players because I hope they can enjoy themselves," Nova said on the sidelines of training the U17 national team at the Madya Stadium in Jakarta on Wednesday.
"(The players are expected to) enjoy the football festival. I think that at their age, the World Cup is the highest level for their age, and I ask the players to enjoy it more ," he continued.
Nova then explained that until now he had not been given any targets for the 2025 U17 World Cup.
Indonesia is in Group H alongside Brazil, Honduras, and Zambia. This is Indonesia's second participation in the U-17 World Cup, following the 2023 edition, when it hosted it.
Regarding player discipline, Nova explained that social media restrictions had been re-implemented by the coaching team, even since the event was held.
