President Erdoğan: We will continue to support the oppressed in Gaza and work to prevent the return of genocide.

This came during a press conference held on Wednesday, following a government meeting at the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan said that approximately 350 Turkish aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip in recent days despite all the difficulties, while more than 400 other trucks are awaiting permission to enter.

He added, "Yesterday, we sent 900 tons of humanitarian aid via the Good Ship from Mersin," stressing that Türkiye has sent more than 100,000 tons of aid to Gaza.

The Turkish president added, "We will intensify our humanitarian aid before the arrival of winter and will continue to support the oppressed in Gaza."

He pointed out that his country provided support to the participants in the "Resilience Flotilla" heading to Gaza, including Turkish citizens, noting that Ankara succeeded in evacuating them after they were detained by Israel.

Erdogan stressed that Türkiye stood with the people of Gaza as they defended their homeland, saying, "We did not tarnish the Palestinian resistance to please others."

He stressed that his country is closely monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and is exerting all possible pressure to prevent a return to genocide, saying, "We are well aware of Israel's record of not fulfilling its promises."

Erdogan continued that Türkiye will continue to support the declaration of intent issued at the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit until the end, adding, "I am confident that the United States, Egypt, and Qatar will take the same supportive stance."

On regional affairs, Erdogan noted that Turkish-Syrian relations are witnessing continuous development, explaining that "the Turkish people have successfully passed the test of brotherhood and neighborliness, and the more stability is established in Syria, the better everything will be."

He stressed that Ankara is strengthening and developing its relations with Damascus in various fields, noting that his country has overcome numerous crises and obstacles "at a time when Western countries are facing major economic and trade challenges."

Erdogan concluded his statement by emphasizing that Türkiye is becoming an indispensable player on the international stage with its active stance in support of peace, dialogue, justice, and resolution.
