Rajawali Medan continues to improve, one of which is by recruiting Gede Elgi Wimbardi from Bali United to face the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).
According to the IBL website, as reported in Jakarta on Thursday, the guard is one of the club's recruits to deepen or strengthen their player rotation.
Gede Elgi's move is an important step for Rajawali in preparing themselves more thoroughly, in order to achieve maximum results in the upcoming new season.
The Denpasar native will be entering his sixth season of professional career and Rajawali will be his second club.
This step is also considered appropriate, because next season Bali United Basketball will be absent from the league due to financial reasons.
Before joining Bali United, Gede Elgi played for the Indonesia Patriots in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
While with the youth team formed by the Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) Central Executive Board, he averaged 5.8 points per game (ppg), two rebounds per game (rpg), and two assists per game (apg) in 29 games in the 2023 season.
However, after joining Bali United under coach Anthony Garbelotto in the 2024 season, Gede Elgi's role declined. He only appeared in 15 matches, averaging 5.5 minutes per game.
