Twenty-one people have been charged with violence during a demonstration that turned violent around the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR)/People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) building in August 2025.
The public prosecutor from the Attorney General's Office, Maryani Melindawati Sagala, stated that the violence committed by the defendants allegedly resulted in several police officers being injured and resulted in damage to the fence of the DPR/MPR RI Building, Transjakarta bus stops, and other public facilities.
"They have committed a crime openly and with joint force using violence against people or property," said the public prosecutor at the indictment reading hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday.
