Two people named Muhammad Azril and Neosowa Rezeky, also known as Neo, were charged with damaging the car of a Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) employee during a demonstration that turned violent in August 2025.
"The defendants openly and with joint force used violence against people or property, intentionally destroying the property or if the violence used resulted in injuries," said Public Prosecutor (JPU) from the Attorney General's Office (AGO) Donna Sihombing during the indictment reading hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) on Thursday.
As a result of Azzril and Neo's actions, the Public Prosecutor stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs employee named Timotius suffered a loss of IDR 186.11 million.
Thus, he continued, the two defendants are threatened with criminal penalties regulated in Article 170 paragraph (2) point 1 or Article 170 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
The Public Prosecutor revealed that the case began on August 25, 2025 when Neo was in front of Senayan Park, precisely under the flyover.
