Blood pressure control is the key to preventing hypertension complications.

  Bayer Indonesia's medical director, Dr. Irawan Septian Nugroho, MBBS, MMed (Int. Med), emphasized the importance of controlling blood pressure in an effort to prevent complications of hypertension, including the risk of blood pressure spikes that can trigger strokes and heart attacks.

"Stable blood pressure over 24 hours is key to preventing serious complications," he said in a discussion titled "The Science Behind: The Importance of 24-hour Hypertension Management" held.

According to the World Health Organization and the 2021 recommendations of the Indonesian Hypertension Doctors Association, normal adult blood pressure is less than 130/85 mmHg.

Hypertension or high blood pressure, according to the World Health Organization, occurs when the pressure in the blood vessels reaches 140/90 mmHg or more.
