Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted his squad struggled against Tunisia in a friendly match at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, France, early Wednesday morning WIB, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Quoted from the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) website, Ancelotti said that facing Tunisia was more complicated than meeting Senegal, whom they beat with a score of 2-0, Saturday (15/11).
"Tunisia has different characteristics (from Senegal-ed). They defend very deep. With our style of play, the forwards have difficulty breaking through their defense," said Ancelotti.
However, the Italian tactician assessed that his players had put up a good fight against Tunisia.
According to Ancelotti, Brazil played poorly at the start of the match, causing them to fall behind in the 23rd minute through Hazem Mastouri's goal.
The goal, he continued, exposed his squad's negligence. However, Ancelotti still appreciated the Brazilian national team's response, which managed to equalize in the 44th minute through Estevao's penalty.
"We started the match poorly, but we reacted well and could have won. In the second half, with limited space, we played the game as we should have," said the 66-year-old coach.
