Brentford's young midfielder ends his season early with a knee injury

  Brentford announced that their young midfielder, Fabio Carvalho, has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his knee, which will mean he will have to end the 2025/2026 season early.


"Fábio Carvalho will undergo surgery after suffering an ACL injury. He will be out for the remainder of the season," Brentford said in an official statement, as quoted from the club's website on Friday.


Brentford said Carvalho had been admitted to the club's rehabilitation centre under specialist care and was preparing forc surgery.


The 23-year-old joined Brentford from Liverpool in the summer of 2024. During his time at the club, he made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing four assists .
