China's electronic information manufacturing sector recorded steady growth during the first three quarters (Q1-Q3) of 2025, according to the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Value-added industrial production by major companies in the sector rose 10.9 percent year-on-year (yoy) during the period, or 4.7 percentage points higher than the overall industrial sector. This figure indicates an overall positive development trend for the industry, the ministry said.
Among the main products in the electronic information manufacturing sector, mobile phone production experienced relatively rapid growth, reaching 1.11 billion units, with smartphone output reaching 881 million units, or an increase of 1 percent (yoy).
In the first three quarters of this year, microcomputer equipment production reached a total of 251 million units, and integrated circuit output increased 8.6 percent (yoy) to 381.9 billion units.
During the period, the combined operating income of major companies in this sector rose 8.8 percent year-on-year to 12.5 trillion yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,341), and the companies' combined profit increased 12 percent to 493.8 billion yuan.
Large companies in the sector are those with annual core business revenue of at least 20 million yuan.
