Elections were held yesterday, Friday, at Al-Ahly Club to choose a new board of directors for a new term from 2025 to 2029.

Thirteen candidates competed in the Al-Ahly elections, 12 of whom were on Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list, and one candidate ran as an “independent”.

Mahmoud El Khatib won the chairmanship of the board of directors for a third consecutive term by acclamation, and Yassin Mansour also won the position of vice president of Al-Ahly by acclamation.

Khaled Mortagy will also be in the treasurer's seat, while Tarek Kandil, Mohamed El-Damaty, Mohamed El-Ghazawy, and Mohamed El-Garhy will be in the membership positions over the age limit, in addition to new members Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, Ahmed Hossam Awad, and Hazem Helal.

In the under-age membership, two new faces joined Al-Ahly's board of directors: Ibrahim Al-Amri and Ruwaida Hisham, while Hassan Tantawi, a candidate from outside the list, did not succeed in the over-age membership position.

The Al-Ahly elections witnessed a large turnout of members of the General Assembly since the registration process opened on Friday morning, amid great media and public interest, before the voting process closed at 7 pm on Friday. 

Mahmoud El Khatib expressed his deep gratitude for the confidence shown by the General Assembly in renewing his election as president of the club for a new term, stressing that the electoral scene reflected the spirit of belonging and loyalty within the Red Castle.

Al-Khatib said in his remarks following the conclusion of the election process: “Al-Ahly members have once again demonstrated their awareness and loyalty to the club through their massive participation in the elections, which reflects their concern for the future of the club and the continuation of its successes.”

The president of Al-Ahly thanked the previous board of directors and everyone who contributed to serving the club during the past years, noting that everyone worked with a family spirit and complete dedication to the interest of Al-Ahly.
