Curacao qualifies for 2026 World Cup, FIFA President congratulates

Curacao has officially made history in world football after securing its first place in the 2026 World Cup.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino was one of the first to congratulate and praise the small Caribbean nation's historic achievement.

In a statement on social media, Infantino expressed his appreciation for Curacao's success, which is only qualifying for the fourth time as an independent nation.

"Congratulations to Curacao on this incredible achievement. Having qualified for the World Cup only four times as an independent nation, you are truly inspiring," Infantino wrote on Instagram.

Curacao secured their World Cup berth after holding Jamaica to a 0-0 draw in their final Group B match of the CONCACAF Zone Qualifiers.
