This came during his participation in the 2025 TRT World Forum held in Istanbul under the slogan "Global Reconstruction: From the Old Order to the New Reality".
Fidan added: "Although the agreement remains fragile due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, it offers an important opportunity to end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. We must ensure its full implementation."
He pointed out that a ceasefire is not an end in itself, explaining that "a just and lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution."
The minister also stressed the importance of enabling Palestinians to manage the Gaza Strip, in order to move forward with the momentum generated during the Sharm el-Sheikh summit held in Egypt on October 13.
The ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on October 10th, according to the plan of US President Donald Trump, ended the two-year Israeli war of extermination on Gaza, which was supported by Washington and resulted in the martyrdom of 68,643 Palestinians and the injury of 170,655 others, most of them women and children, while the United Nations estimated the cost of rebuilding the sector at about $70 billion.
However, Israel repeatedly violated the agreement, resulting in the deaths of 211 Palestinians and injuries to 597 others, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
In a separate context, Fidan addressed the Russian-Ukrainian war, saying: "We believe that diplomacy is an effective path to a peaceful solution in Ukraine, and based on this approach, we reaffirm our readiness to host a fourth round of talks or a possible summit of leaders in Istanbul."
He added that "Turkey, as a country that maintains its constructive dialogue with both sides, succeeded in facilitating the return of the two parties to the negotiating table through the Istanbul process, achieving tangible results, including three rounds of talks, an exchange of prisoners, and the resumption of direct dialogue between them."
Fidan stressed that "strengthening regional and international cooperation and establishing a genuine partnership are the only way to confront global challenges," emphasizing that Turkey will continue to support dialogue and diplomacy as a fundamental pillar of its foreign policy.
He continued: "We will continue to work with all partners who share our vision of a more just, balanced and representative international system."
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, stipulating that Kyiv must "abandon" its plans to join military entities in order to end it, prompting Western capitals, led by Washington, to impose severe economic sanctions on Moscow.
