Hamas: The American decision achieves the goals of the occupation and imposes international trusteeship on Gaza.

This came in a statement commenting on the UN Security Council’s adoption of the US draft resolution on Gaza, with 13 members voting in favor and Russia and China abstaining, late Monday evening.

Hamas said the decision "does not live up to the political and humanitarian demands and rights of our Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, which has faced for two full years a brutal war of extermination and unprecedented crimes committed by the terrorist occupation in full view of the world."

She explained that the decision "imposes an international trusteeship mechanism on the Gaza Strip, which is rejected by our people, forces and factions."

Hamas indicated that the decision "imposes a mechanism to achieve the goals of the (Israeli) occupation, which it failed to achieve through the brutal war of extermination," and whose "effects and repercussions are still widespread and ongoing despite the announcement of the end of the war according to President Trump's plan."

She stressed that “the decision separates the Gaza Strip from the rest of the Palestinian territory and attempts to impose new realities that deprive our people of their right to self-determination and the establishment of their Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

The movement also affirmed that “resisting the occupation by all means is a legitimate right guaranteed by international laws and conventions, and the weapon of resistance is linked to the existence of the occupation.”

She pointed out that assigning the international force tasks and roles within the Gaza Strip, including disarming the resistance, removes its neutrality and turns it into a party to the conflict in favor of the occupation.

Earlier on Monday evening, the UN Security Council overwhelmingly adopted a US draft resolution endorsing President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and authorizing the deployment of an international stabilization force to the Palestinian territory.

Thirteen members of the council voted in favor of the draft resolution in a public session, while Russia, which had submitted a competing draft resolution, abstained from voting along with China.

The United Nations website stated that Resolution 2803 welcomed President Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, issued on September 29, 2025.
