Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono admits that Barcelona player Lamine Yamal is currently better than him.
The 18-year-old Argentine midfielder made the admission while discussing his physical condition and the new generation rivalry between himself and the Spanish wonderkid.
"Today, Lamine. He showed an extraordinary level. I just arrived in Madrid and am still adapting. I hope this will be a long story with many meetings like our last match, which was extraordinary," he said, speaking to Cadena SER, as quoted on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old also said that he doesn't like direct comparisons, but he understands why they exist.
"I don't like comparisons, but it's always nice to have a rival of Lamine's caliber, from Barcelona, from Spain. It motivates me to be even better. I hope this continues for a long time, until the end of my career," he said.
Mastantuono, who joined Madrid from River Plate last summer for 45 million euros, has been promising since his debut against Osasuna.
