Mauricio Souza is determined to extend Persija Jakarta's winning streak

Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza is determined to extend his team's winning streak when they host Persik Kediri at Manahan Stadium in Surakarta on Thursday (20/11) in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League.

The Kemayoran Tigers returned to winning ways after a 3-1 victory at Persebaya Surabaya on October 18. Persija then won 1-0 at Madura United, 3-1 at home to PSBS Biak, and 2-1 at home to Arema FC.

"We have a clear goal for this match. Of course, we want to get three points. And that's what we hope to achieve in tomorrow's match," Souza said at a press conference, as quoted in an audio recording on Wednesday.

The winning streak has propelled Persija to second place in the Super League standings with 23 points. They are currently seven points behind leaders Borneo FC.

Despite being the host, Persija will not be playing this home match in Jakarta. They were forced to relocate to Surakarta because the pitch at Jakarta International Stadium was unsuitable for the match following a music concert there.

Previously, when hosting PSBS Biak at the end of October, Persija also took refuge at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta.
