Nagelsmann: Germany had a lucky win over Luxembourg

German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann said his squad had a lucky 2-0 win over Luxembourg in Group A of the 2026 World Cup European Qualifiers at the Luxembourg Stadium, Luxembourg City, early Saturday morning WIB.

"We can consider ourselves lucky and happy to take these three points," Nagelsmann was quoted as saying on the official German Football Federation (DFB) website in Jakarta on Saturday.

According to the 38-year-old tactician, the match against Luxembourg was more difficult than it looked. Germany had to fight hard to score and win.

He assessed that his squad didn't play well, especially in the first half. However, Nagelsmann said Germany's performance improved towards the end of the match.

"We created a lot of chances, but not enough to control the game. In the second half, we were more committed to the game and scored two goals. We deserved to have conceded, but thankfully we didn't," said Nagelsmann.
