Nvidia banned from selling chips, US and China AI chip war heats up

The artificial intelligence (AI) chip war between the United States and China continues to heat up after US President Donald Trump decided not to allow Nvidia to sell its latest Blackwell AI chip to China.

Gizmochina reported  that the ban on sales of Nvidia products to the Chinese market was confirmed by White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt who stated, "Blackwell chips are not something we want to sell to China at this time."

This decision follows months of speculation about the possible sale of a smaller version of the US chip to the Chinese market.

This move is in line with President Trump's strategy to maintain the US's technological advantage in AI development and prevent China, as a competitor, from acquiring advanced hardware from the US.
