OpenAI has introduced a group chat feature for ChatGPT, which is currently being tested in several countries, including Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Monday, this feature allows users to interact directly within the app. The trial version of ChatGPT is available for free, Plus, and Team users, both on mobile and web devices.
Through this trial, OpenAI wants to see how users utilize group conversations on the ChatGPT platform.
This launch follows previous reports that OpenAI was testing a direct messaging feature . According to OpenAI, this group chat trial is the first step toward building a more collaborative experience between users.
Users who have the opportunity to access group chats will be asked to provide feedback before the feature is expanded to more regions and services.
OpenAI ensures that private conversations and the memories feature remain private. Meanwhile, group chats are invite-only, and any member can leave at any time.
