Red Bull Team Director Laurent Makies stated that his team needs time to announce its driver line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Red Bull is considering the position of Yuki Tsunoda, who is still undecided on his contract with Racing Bulls after the Japanese driver joined the Red Bull team at the start of this season, replacing Liam Lawson who was traded to Racing Bulls.
However, the team with the twin bulls logo has secured one main driver seat, which will still be filled by Max Verstappen.
"This is one of the reasons why we wanted to take a little more time before making a decision on the driver," Laurent Makies said in a Formula 1 statement on Saturday.
"Yuki is making strides, the other kids are making strides too, so we have no reason to rush into a decision," Makies added.
